The Beit Hijleh area is located west of the Jordan River. The word Atad is Aramaic and means threshing floor. It was named after Atad (Coord. 197 – 136) near Ain Hijla, and it was also mentioned by Bishop Eusebius in his book The Onomasticon (On.8: 17 – 20)
