Mambre

“Mamra” is mentioned in the Bible several times and is located at the entrance to Hebron (Hebron), and was mentioned by Josephus in his book The War of the Jews at Automastikon (On. 6:8-16), and it was also mentioned in many Jewish, Christian, and Islamic writings and in the writings of travelers who visited the region.
Hebron was also known as Kiryat Arba, in reference to the Anakians, a Canaanite people who inhabited the Hebron region.

In the mosaic map of Madaba, the oak tree is depicted near Mamra, whereas the southern region of Mamra, where Hebron (the village of Arba) is situated, has unfortunately suffered damage.
