Rantis is mentioned in the Bible in several verses, and is known as Armathem/Ramathaim Aremathia, mentioned by Bishop Eusebius (Eus. On. 32:21-23) and in (144:27-29)

In the 6th century AD, many Christian pilgrims located the site of Ramtheim – the birthplace of the Prophet Samuel – on the site of the present-day town of the Prophet Samuel (coord. 167-137) located in the northeast of Jerusalem (Jerusalem), which is 14 km away.
