Bishop Eusebius mentioned Tell Nemrin in (Philippians 44:16-18) and it was called in the Old Testament under the name (Beth– Nemra), meaning the place where the “tigers” were found. Deer also appear on Madaba’s map, indicating a boom in wildlife in ancient times in this area.
