It was not mentioned in the book Onomasticon by Bishop Eusebius, but it was mentioned in many books by Arab and foreign travelers. It was founded by the Nabataeans in the third century BC, and later became the center of the Negev region “Palestina Tertia” and a episcopal center during the Byzantine rule. Its ruins were excavated between the years (1973 – 1980) AD, and its location was determined in “Al-Khalisa” (coord. 117 – 056)
