Morasthi
Murshahjet, the name meaning “near Jet,” was the birthplace of Micah the prophet (Micah 1:14). Saint Jerome (Ironimus) (4th century AD) says that it was a short distance from the city of Beth-geren, which suggests that it was “Khirbet Umm al-Basal” or Tell al-Hudaydah, about five miles west of Gath, about twenty miles southwest of Jerusalem, and about two miles northeast of Beth-geren.
