It was mentioned in the Bible in 1 Samuel, and in the writings of some Christian travelers who visited the holy places. It is now known as Khirbet Shilon, located south of Nablus, about 18 kilometers away, and is located on the main road linking Jerusalem (Jerusalem) and Nablus.
